It is with broken hearts and much sadness that we announce the death of Denis Herve Deveau, 55, of Fredericton, NB, who passed away on September 3, 2022, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton NB, surrounded by his family. Denis was born in Trenton, ON, on January 8, 1967. He was the youngest child and only son born to Herve and Geneva (Gallant) Deveau. Besides his parents, Denis is survived by his wife, his soul mate and true love, Melanie (Paget) Deveau. Denis was the proud and loving dad to two beautiful and smart daughters, Katherine and Victoria Deveau. He will be forever loved and missed by his chosen son and best friend, Parker Britton, as well as his four-legged companion, Remy. Denis will be remembered as the devilish, caring, and fun-loving younger brother to Patricia (Terry) Thorsen, and Gisele Deveau, and the best uncle ever to Casey Thorsen. He had a special bond and friendship with Melanie’s family and will be forever missed by his mother-in-law, Brenda Paget, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Noah and Sarah Paget. Always the tease, he was known as crazy Uncle Den to Jillian, Reece and Olivia Paget. Benefits of a large family means Denis is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who will cherish their memories and laugh at the stories they have to share. Denis was predeceased by his father-in-law, Stephen Paget and a niece, Robin Thorsen. Denis was employed with the Province of New Brunswick for 30 years and was so excited to have recently retired. He had plans to volunteer, supply teach and a lengthy to do list. It is now up to us to do all those things he never got to do and to live life to the fullest. He always had a project or two or three and sometime more on the go, fixing or building this or that, and dreaming about what he could start next even before anything was finished. Den’s favourite place was in his shop where he loved creating and crafting his woodworking projects. He had a talent many only dream about, and he was teaching and mentoring Parker so that he too could have this passion. He loved helping others and was always there to lend a hand, a tool or his time. He was known as Scouter Denis to many youth, parents and other scouters with 1st Lincoln Lighthouse Scouts, and will be remembered for all the laughs, jokes, camping trips and skills he taught them over the years. Denis will be remembered for his generosity, his huge heart, compassion, and ability to make anyone feel welcomed and important. He was a special man that we will remember and love. We are proud and grateful to call him our husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. “Some of it is magic, some of it is tragic but I had a good life all the way” – Jimmy Buffett Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at McAdam’s Funeral Home from 3 – 6 pm. A memorial service will be held at Smythe Street Church on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 2 pm. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Scouts Canada – Yoho Scouts Reserve, Capital Region Special Olympics or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Denis Herve Deveau 1967 2022..

Death notice for the town of: Fredericton, Province: Nouveau-Brunswick

Very sad to learn of the tragic passing of my old friend Denis Deveau. We became friends while attending UNB in Fredericton and shared many good times. Denis had a great sense of humour and I am left with memories of the friendship we shared. My condolences to Denis’ family and friends. May He Rest In Peace.

I was so sorry to learn of Denis’s passing. We worked together many years ago. He was spirited and ambitious and loved a good laugh. Great attributes in a public servant. Sincere sympathy to the Deveau family.

Nos sympathies à toute cette famille, spécialement à Hervé et Genéva! Vous êtes dans nos pensées! Sincèrement, Cécile et Armand
