Freddie Lee Carlock, 78, of Rock Spring, a son of the late Bill and Frances Cooper Carlock, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

Fred was born on July 17, 1944, in LaFayette, Ga., and was a lifelong resident of Rock Spring, Ga. He was a member of the Rock Spring United Methodist Church. He worked over 30 years for Anderson Machine Shop and Gaston County, now known as Signal Machine Shop. Fred loved woodworking especially when he got to make furniture for his children, family and friends. He also enjoyed farming, gardening and listening to music. More than anything he loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his identical twin sons, Timothy Lamar and Thomas LeBron Carlock; brother, Ben Carlock.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Joan M. Carlock; children, Chrisi Lott Lyles (Alan), Carol Lott Bishop (Chadd) and Gregory Lee Carlock (Lisa); siblings, Jeff Carlock (Billie) and Phyllis Carlock Smalley; grandchildren, Jeffery Cauthen, Jr. (Lisa), Danielle Charles, Jessica Carlock Adams, Jacob Carlock and Shelby Carlock; 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Tuesday, and 12–2 p.m. on Wednesday before the service at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
